Vision the Kid - Lost Summer

With student loan debt rapidly climbing to an all time high of a trillion dollars, a perpetual recession and zero new jobs available (literally) to offer any way of paying off that debt, it's no surprise that college graduates of the past few years have become something of a lost generation. Minnesota emcee Vision the Kid expresses the frustrations of this generation - "26 and unemployed ... I ain't good with failure and now I'm worse with debt / I'm sitting here like damn, my life ain't even started yet " - on one of the most relevant hip hop songs I've heard in a long time. While I understand that a lot of people tune into the hyperbolic materialism of Drake and Rick Ross' "Rozay" rap as a form of escapism, I'm surprised more emcees haven't turned back to reality rap like this, as I would think there's a real market for it these days.

In any event, the beat is produced by Ryan "Tru" Truax. The song, Lost Summer, will appear on Vision's upcoming album of the same name, due out on November 10th.
